1337 ELITE Business Financials

I've been a part of the Young Entrepreneurs At Haas since the summer before Freshman year. YEAH teaches students how to thrive in the business world, and uses many of the same teaching techniques, tools, and situations as professors at UCB Haas use. Over the years YEAH has ingrained in me basic business principals through case studies, presentations, hypothetical situations, and proffesional simulations. The most important of these, I think, is the 1337 ELITE business that my team and I 'created'.This was a video game retail and hangout spot. The challenge was to create a fictitious business and do all the prep work as if we were actually going to go through with it. I was immediately made CFO, as I was the best with numbers. My responsability was to crunch all the numbers and figure out our total projected expenses and revenue. I estimated stat up costs, renovation costs, and even scoped out a real-life venue. I actually called various leasing companies to find out the cost of leasing various spaces and researched foot traffic patterns; we ended up choosing the space at Southshore where Borders used to be. I feel that this is some of my best work because I was very thorough and I put a lot of thought and work into every part of it. This project has allowed me to see how business are formed, and have me a chance to practice doing just that. As an entrepreneur, I found this to be one of the most useful projects I've ever done, and had a lot of fun doing it.Below is a link to the projected financial statements for 1337 Elite.
